(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi vowed to liberate the city of Ramadi from ISIS control within days, while expressed surprise at the US Defense Secretary’s remarks on the Iraqi army.

“Sky News” quoted al-Abadi as saying that, “the city of Ramadi will be restored from the control of the ISIS terrorist organization within days,” and expressed surprise at “the US Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter’s remarks, in which he said that the Iraqi army lacks the will to fight ISIS”.

Abadi added that, “Carter always supports Iraq”, indicating that, “His comments came as a result of getting false information on Iraqi military’s ability to confront ISIS “.

Abadi’s remarks come after Carter drew a scathing criticism of the Iraqi army against the backdrop of the fall of Ramadi at the hands of ISIS.
