Ahrar’s parliamentary bloc opposes draft of National Guards, supports compulsory military service
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) On Sunday, Al-Ahrar’s parliamentary bloc announced it supports the activation of Iraqi compulsory military service instead of pursuing with the national guards project.
MP of the bloc informed IraqiNews “The compulsory service in the Army will apply to all components of the Iraqi people. The service will include and apply to Shia, Sunnah, Kurd and Christian citizens equally.”
Previously, Al-Dawa party said the government must maintain the upper hand over the National Guards forces; otherwise it could morph into another ISIS.
