(IraqiNews.com) On Saturday, vice president Nouri al-Maliki called to redouble efforts to look after the injured elements of the security forces and the Volunteer Fighters (al-Hashd al-Sha’bi), considering the “big” victories against ISIS could not have been achieved without the sacrifices of those elements.

Maliki said in a statement during his visit to the Volunteer Fighters injured at Kadhimiya Hospital, received by IraqiNews.com, “The big victories achieved by al-Hashd al-Sha’bi fighters and the security forces would not have been without their sacrifices.”

Maliki added, “The Iraqi people’s awareness and agreement on the security services have helped in thwarting the terrorists’ criminal attempts and plots,” calling to “redouble the efforts to care for al-Hashd al-Sha’bi and the security forces wounded.”

According to the statement, Maliki praised the high spirits of the wounded who are racing against time to recover in order to return to the battlefields.
