Baghdad PC approves project to extend 24 km pipeline to address rainwater

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Baghdad Provincial Council approved a project to extend a carrier pipeline to address the floods caused by rainwater in Baghdad.

Member of Baghdad PC, Mohamed al-Rubaie told Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) on Sunday “Baghdad PC approved, during today meeting, on a project to extend a carrier pipeline to drain rainwater where the line will be extended from Shaab neighborhood of northern Baghdad to Rustomiya neighborhood to the south of Baghdad.”

Over the few past days, Baghdad and other provinces witnessed heavy rains that led to drown many streets and neighborhoods, causing material damages to many houses, buildings and shops.

This situation prompted Baghdad Governorate to provide financial compensations to the people affected by those rain floods.

For his part, Maliki approved this proposal of compensating the affected people.
