Council of Ministers agrees to suspend 2014 midyear exams

(IraqiNews.com) On Tuesday, the Ministry of Education announced that, the Council of Ministers approved suspending the midyear exams for all grades except the 4th preparatory grade, in the current academic year 2014 – 2015, pointing out the spring holiday will remain.

General Director of Examinations and Evaluation in the ministry, Shaker Niama Abdul-Aoun said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “The Council of Ministers during its regular meeting, held today, approved the proposal of the Ministry of Education to suspend midyear exams for all current grades of the academic year 2014 – 2015,” noting that the decision excluded the 4th preparatory grade.

Abdul-Aoun explained, “The pursuit annual rate will be calculated based on the output of all grades in the first semester with those in the second semester divided by two.”

He added, “The spring break remains,” stressing that there is no change in schedule.
