Facebook ban to be lifted by Iraq Ministry of Communications

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) On Sunday, the Minister of Communications, Torhan Mufti, said that the ministry has decided to lift the ban on the social networking site Facebook over the next few days.

Mufti said, in a statement received by IraqiNews.com, that “the ministry is working to control and find out to what extent the impact of cutting on the activists of the terrorist gangs of ISIL after blocking the social networking programs, and we hope to unblock those programs soon.”

Mufti stressed that “The ministry decided to lift the ban on Facebook during the next few days after the end of the necessary security measures.”

The Ministry of Communications blocked the site of “Facebook” during the past period and more than one time and attributed that to the special security conditions experienced by the country in order to prevent communication between the armed groups.
