GCAF warns military units from firing shots to express wining of football team

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi Ministry of Defense warned of severely punish the military units which fire shots in case the Iraqi National Football Team win the match that will be played tomorrow Friday against the UAE counterpart.

A statement by the Ministry received by IraqiNews.com on Thursday cited that “The General Commander of the Armed Forces, Nouri al-Maliki, ordered all the military units not to fire in air to express their delight after the ends of the football matches as this phenomenon is illegal and may harm the citizens,” noting that “They can celebrate in other ways that are more civilized.”
