IHEC prolongs period of updating voters register

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Independent High Electoral Commission prolonged the period of updating the voters register.

The head of the Electoral Board within the IHEC, Muqdad al-Shirefi, said that “The IHEC extended the period of updating the voters register till 7th, January, 2013 so as to give the citizens chance to check out their statements and update them.”

It is worth mentioning that the IHEC has opened in current December, 9th, (863) centers for voters register update throughout the Iraqi provinces, except Kirkuk and Kurdistan Region, in preparation for the upcoming local elections.
