Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) On Tuesday, the Iraqi Oil Ministry welcomed the decision of the American judiciary to confiscate the Kurdish oil shipment from a tanker off the coast of Texas after a request from Iraq, while vowing to pursue and follow up on all shipments out of Iraq.

The Ministry spokesman, Assem Jihad, said in an interview for IraqiNews.com that “the Iraqi Oil Ministry welcomes and commends the decision of the American judiciary to confiscate the shipment of oil from Kurdistan on board the tanker off the coast of Texas and at the request of the central government,” adding that “this move came as a result of steps taken by the ministry with respect to this matter. ”

Jihad added that “the ministry, through the legal authorities, will pursue and prosecute all shipments that came out of Iraq”, appealing to the international community to “protect Iraq’s oil wealth.”

A U.S. judge signed, on Tuesday, an order to confiscate the Kurdish oil shipment from a tanker off the coast of Texas after a request from Iraq.

It is noteworthy that Iraq has filed a lawsuit today in the Texas court to demand the acquisition of a shipment of crude oil from the Kurdistan region of Iraq; Baghdad says it was sold without her permission.
