Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi Ministry of Electricity denied that some electric poles in Baghdad carry the Israeli star.

A statement by the Ministry cited that “Some media outlets reported that the Ministry of Electricity erected lighting poles in Amirat Street of Mansour neighborhood in Baghdad that carry the Israeli star,” stressing that “Those reports aim to revoke and incense the public opinion against the Minister of Electricity, Aftan al-Jumaili, and abuse his reputation.”

“These shapes are mere flowers that are fixed in the lighting poles for ornament purposes which were imported within a contract concluded by the ministry with the Iranian Soutar Company,” it added.

It is worth mentioning that some media outlets reported that the Electricity Ministry installed poles of electric power that carry the Israeli star in a number of streets in Baghdad.
