 Iraq’s population reached 36 million people, says Planning Ministry

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – The Ministry of Planning announced Tuesday, that the number of Iraq’s population reached 36 million in 2014, indicating that males ratio amounted 51%, while the female ratio was 49%, pointing out that Baghdad population reached 7.6 million people, while the province of Muthanna was less populated than other provinces..

The ministry said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com, “The Central Bureau of Statistics released its annual report on the Iraqi population estimates for the year 2014. The number of Iraq’s population, according to the population projections for the year 2014, amounted to 36 million people in 2014; 51% of them are males, numbering 18.319 million people, while the female rate is 49%, numbering 17.685 million people.”
