ISIS imposes veil on the women of Tikrit and Baiji.

Tikrit (Iraqinews.com) On Saturday, according to a local source in Salahuddin province, ISIS imposed the veil on women in the city of Tikrit and Baiji and threatened to flog any man who accompanies a woman who does not abide by this rule. The source added that ISIS has banned smoking in all its forms in Tikrit and the district of Al-Alam and confiscated all cigarettes from shops.

The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com “the terrorist organization ISIS has ordered all women in Tikrit and Baiji to wear the veil if they leave their homes for any reason.”

The source, who asked not to be named, said: “The organization has vowed to flog any man accompanied by a woman does not adhere to this decree and wear the veil.”

The source explained that “the organization also banned all smoking in Tikrit and Al-Alam, vowing to flog any offenders,” noting that “the militants ISIS closed all shops selling cigarettes and confiscated all cigarettes from shops in these mentioned areas.”
