Jubouri denies claims MPs received $50.000 each

(IraqiNews.com) On Thursday, Parliament speaker Salim al-Jubouri denied any MP receiving the amount of $50.000, while demanded to disclose their financial interests for 2015.

A parliamentary source stated for IraqiNews.com, “Parliament speaker Salim al-Jubouri denied in today’s session that any MP had received 50 thousand dollars,” noting that, “The statements published by some lawmakers aimed at deforming and reducing the council’s prestige.”

The source, who requested to remain anonymous, added, “Al-Jubouri called during the meeting to disclose the MPs financial interests for 2015.”

The Council of Representatives held on Thursday its 15 the session led by al-Jubouri, while a parliamentary source confirmed that the meeting will include the first and second readings six draft laws.

Noteworthy, a number of media sources attributed a statement to the lawmaker Kazem Sayadi in which he claimed that the House of Representatives allocated $50.000 dollars for each deputy to improve their conditions.
