Kurdish ministers withdrawn from Baghdad by President of Kurdistan Region

kurdistan-regional-government-krg-logoErbil (IraqiNews.com) Kurdistan Region President Massoud Barzani decided to withdraw all Kurdish ministers from the federal government of Baghdad in response to the latest accusations by Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, who claimed that Erbil has turned into the headquarters for the terrorist organization of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant and Baathist elements from the former regime of Saddam Hussein.

The Bloc MP for the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Arafat Karam said, in an interview for IraqiNews.com, that “The presidency of the Kurdistan region has decided to withdraw the Kurdish ministers from Baghdad in response to the threats of al-Maliki for the Kurdistan region that it has been turned into the headquarters for ISIL and the terrorists.”

Karam considered that “the timing of the threats of al-Maliki for the Kurdistan region was a mistake”, pointing out that “the threats came at a time when all parties are trying to solve problems and not cracking the Iraqi house.”
