(IraqiNews.com) On Saturday, the Information Office of the President of Kurdistan, Massoud Barzani confirmed that the latter warned the former Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki about the risk of ISIS emergence, threats and progress into western Nineveh, noting that al-Maliki is responsible for the fall of Mosul, and the failure of the Iraqi Army.

The office said in a statement followed by IraqiNews.com, “We confirm for all parties that the President of Kurdistan had warned the former Iraqi prime minister about the risk of ISIS emergence and its movements in western Nineveh, and the city of Mosul. He told him that the Kurdistan region is ready to help Iraqi forces in a joint operation to prevent the growth and strength of terrorists in the region.”

The office added that the former Iraqi prime minister did not pay the warning and the proposal made by Barzani any attention, noting that the head of the Supreme Council Ammar al-Hakim and Deputy Prime Minister Ruz Nuri Shaways, as well as the US ambassador to Iraq at the time are witnesses that former Iraqi Prime minister was informed of the ISIS dangers.”

The office also pointed out that, “The former Iraqi prime minister is responsible for the fall of Mosul and failure of the Iraqi army, and he cannot cover that up,” adding that, “The Iraqi people have suffered from all kinds of calamities, instability and political, military and economic failure in Iraq. The former Iraqi prime minister and all around him are responsible for this.”
