MoHR discovers (83) remains of bodies for Iraq-Iran war

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Ministry of Human Rights announced discovering (83) remains of victims of the Iraqi-Iranian war in Faw city of southern Iraq.The Ministry of Human Rights reported in statement received by IraqiNews.com that ”The department concerned with captives and missing people of the Humanitarian Affairs Directorate in the Ministry of Human Rights in cooperation with an Iranian search team conducted joint digging operations in Mamlaha area of Faw city,” noting that “The digging operations were launched on February 4th and resulted in discovering (83) remains of victims of the Iraqi-Iranian war, among them (36) bodies belong to Iraqi solders.””The joint digging operations were under the supervision of the international committee of the International Red Cross Organization and these remains represent the seventh group that was found during digging operations in Faw city,” the statement added.The Ministry pointed out that ”The search operations continue in cooperation with Iran and later the remains of the bodies will be swapped between Iraq and Iran amid formal procedures.” \
