Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) On Wednesday, Iraqi MP Hanan al-Fatlawi called the government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to present a note of pretest in the United Nations (UN) on the back of a statement made by the High Commissioner for Human Rights in regards to the armed tribesmen in Iraq.

Al-Fatlawi stated for IraqiNews in an interview, “Iraq’s government and the Foreign Ministry must take an official action towards that statement which equated between ISIS militants and Iraqi tribal fighters.”

She called the government to send a note of protest to the United Nations, adding that, “It’s a shame that the government would tolerate such abuse, which represents an insult to the martyrs’ blood of the armed volunteers who have been fighting in many fronts alongside Iraqi soldiers.” She also claimed that those fighters work for free, and that they’ve accomplished on the ground so many victories which an international coalition of 40 countries couldn’t make.”
