MP criticizes accusing MoE of being failed to develop educational standard in Iraq

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Parliamentary Education Committee criticized accusing the Ministry of Education a being failed in developing the educational standard for the students in Iraq.

The member of the Committee, Ali Hasoun, stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “The sides that accuse the MoE of not developing the educational standard of the students do not know that the education in Iraq has reached high levels.”

“Previously, the educational standard was very low especially after the siege that Iraq faced during the former regime which was not on the economic level only, but also on all levels,” he added.

“After 2003 and in spite of the disturbed security situation, the education in Iraq started to progress according to the statistics that we received from the MoE which showed that the students’ ratio of success reached (90%) after being (20%) during the former regime which shows the development of the students’ educational standard in Iraq,” he concluded.

Earlier, some media outlets reported that one of the Director Generals within the MoE described the government as being “Failed the educational standard in Iraq, accusing the MoE of lacking the active plans to develop it.”
