MP demands to pay salaries for members of provincial, municipal councils

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Awad al-Awadi of Ahrar Bloc accused the Retirement Commission of the Secretariat General of the Council of Ministers of being the side that disrupts paying the pension salaries for members of provincial and municipal councils despite the availability of the financial allocations. He mentioned in statement received by IraqiNews.com on Wednesday ”The article (38) of bylaw of the Parliament allows the Presidency Committee to form an investigation committee if they manage to collect signatures from 50 MPs in order to investigate in disrupting the salaries payment for members of provincial and municipal councils.””The Retirement Commission of the Secretariat General of the Cabinet is disrupting the payment of salaries, though, there is no legal article stipulates stoppage of paying these salaries,” he added.”An investigation committee was formed to investigate in this issue and the committee will host the Director General of Retirement Commission and the officials concerned to figure out the reasons behind the delay in paying the salaries,” he pointed out. \
