Operations cell to be formed to follow up transporting foreign pilgrims stuck at Najaf airport

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi Minister of Transportation, Hadi al-Amiri instructed to form operations cell at Najaf international airport to facilitate transporting the foreign pilgrims stuck at the airport to their counties.

Informed source at the Ministry told IraqiNews.com that “Amiri instructed to form operations cell at Najaf international airport to facilitate the transportation of the remaining Lebanese and Arab Gulf pilgrims to their countries.”

109 pilgrims from Lebanon has arrived to Iraq to perform the Arbaeen Pilgrimage and they are still held at Najaf airport.

The sponsor of the Lebanese pilgrims campaign attributed the reason behind the delay of launching those pilgrims’ flights to the tightened security measures inside the airport.
