Parliamentary Committee discuses pensions of former members of local councils

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The committee concerned with pension rights of the members of local councils discussed the mechanism to find the solutions for their retirement salaries.The committee reported in statement received by IraqiNews.com ”The State Secretary for Provinces Affairs, Torhan al-Mufti, held a meeting with MP Huda Sajad as the representative of the Provinces and Regions Parliamentary Committee and the Director of the General Pension Directorate, Ahmed Abdul Jabbar, in addition to representatives of the Ministry of State for Provinces Affairs.”Mufti assured that “The work continues to find the suitable solutions for retirement salaries for the former members of the local councils.””The State Ministry demanded the Provinces and Regions Parliamentary Committee to amend the law article (21) related to the retirement salaries of former members of local councils,” the statement added.”The Ministry will file a decree to the Presidency of Cabinet and the Ministry of Finance to return the former members of local councils for their previous posts as employees in the governmental institutions,” the statement pointed out. \END\
