Mannequins depicting the male form were not except from ISIL’s fatwa.

Mosul (IraqiNews.com) On Thursday, pages on social networking sites revealed that the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant issued a Fatwa that required shopkeepers in the city of Mosul to veil the faces of clothing display mannequins as per ISIL’s implementation of Sharia or “Islamic law.”

These pages noted, after the publication of a number of images, that male mannequins were not exempt from the fatwa which imposed facial covering for both female and male display models, without discrimination, arguing that figurines depicting the human body are fully prohibited.
