President emphasizes will to sustain rights of Iraqi Christians

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The President of Iraq Fuad Masoum stressed the government’s sincere intention to care for the displaced people’s conditions and ease their sufferings.

The president on Sunday welcomed a delegation of Syriac Catholic Diocese, which included bishop Afram Yosof {Arbishop of Baghdad} and Bishop, John Peter, {Mosul Archishop} besides a large number of Christian clergymen.

The Christians are Iraq’s original inhabitants who have leaved peacefully with the other communities for thousands of years and sacrificed too much in favor of the country, Masoum added.

We will sustain the rights of the Iraqi Christians as they were subject to the worst forms of oppression and injustice in hands of the IS terrorists, he said.
