(IraqiNews.com) On Wednesday, cleric Moqtada al-Sadr accused the U.S. government of discriminating between its white and black citizens, and urged not to be deceived by its president Barack Obama being black.

Sadr said, in response to a question by a group of journalists about the events taking place in some US cities in protest against the innocence of a policeman who killed a young black man, posted on his website and followed by IraqiNews.com, “This shows the oppression and injustice by the US government that divide between the white people and the black people”, and called for continual condemnation and demands for justice.

He added, “Do not be deceived by your president (Barack Obama) being a black man…I will support your cause. I’m with the people wherever and wherever they are.”

On 23 August 2014, Sadr called the United States of America to listen to the demands of its people and not to assault them with murder and torture.
