Sara mountain avalanche in Sulaimaniya Dukan district

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Sara mountain in Dukan district within Sulaimaniya province witnessed an avalanche due to heavy rainfall in the region. The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan Website quoted the mayor of Dukan municipal department, Beshetwan Ahmed, as saying ”Some parts of the mountain collapsed due to the heavy rainfall on the region which led to closing the main road between Dukan district and the tourist areas.”The mayor added that ”The main road was closed due to the breakdown but the municipality teams opened a sub road for the citizens.””The human casualties due to the mountain breakdown are unidentified yet, though the municipal teams are cleaning the road,” he pointed out.
