URGENT: ISIL destroys 14th century Islamic shrine located west of Mosul

Mosul (IraqiNews.com) According to a security source in Nineveh province the terrorists of the organization of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant looted and then detonated the mosque of Imam Yahya Abu al-Qasim in the area of Achifa, western of Mosul.

The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com that “the terrorist gunmen of ISIL looted and blew up, this afternoon, the shrine of Imam Yahya Abu al-Qasim with improvised explosive devices on the banks of the Tigris River in the west of Mosul.”

The source, who requested anonymity, added that “the casualties of the event are not known so far.”

ISIL has been rampaging through Iraq, destroying world-famous antiquities and holy sites of Shia Muslims, Sufi Muslims, Christians, Yazidis and any other group they oppose as reported extensively by IraqiNews.com:
