(IraqiNews.com) The British government plans to adopt a plan to build three new military bases in the Middle East to fight the organization of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant, as a part of a strategy to counter the threat of extremism in the region according to a report by the UK Telegraph newspaper.

On Wednesday, the Telegraph reported “The plan includes the establishment of new military bases in the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Bahrain in the framework of the participation of these countries in international efforts to confront the terrorist threat which afflicts the Arab region.”

The newspaper quoted the spokesman for the British Ministry of Defense that the British army maintained its presence in the Middle East since the eighties, and that the armed forces exercise their training on a regular basis with the forces of the Gulf States Cooperation Council members.
