5 Iraqi army members killed, wounded by mortar shells in soutern Baghdad

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – A source in the Iraqi Ministry of Interior announced on Tuesday, that ten people, including 5 members of the Iraqi army, had been either killed or wounded by three mortar shells in southern Baghdad.
The source reported for IraqiNews.com, “Three mortar shells fell, this morning, near an Iraqi army checkpoint in Arab Jabour village in southern Baghdad, killing two of its members and injuring three others,” pointing out that, “Five civilians were also wounded while passing in the area.”
The source, who asked anonymity, added, “A security force transferred the wounded to a nearby hospital to receive treatment and the dead bodies to the forensic medicine department, while cordoned off the area of the incident and carried out a raid operation to find the launchers of the missiles.”
