(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – A police source revealed on Thursday, that 12 civilians were either killed or wounded by mortar shells in a market in western Baghdad.

The source said in a press statement received by IraqiNews.com, “Five mortar shells fell on al-Nasr and al-Salam market in Abu Gharib District in western Baghdad, killing two civilians and wounding ten others.”

The source added,” Ambulance rushed to the incident area and transferred the dead bodies to the forensic medicine department and the wounded to a nearby hospital to receive treatment.”
