(IraqiNews.com) Muthanna – On Sunday, a source in al-Muthanna police announced, that 12 people were killed and 40 others were wounded in the double explosion that targeted al-Sawamah today.

The source said in a statement obtained by IraqiNews.com, “The outcome of the two booby-trapped vehicles explosion in al-Samawah City reached 12 dead and 40 wounded.”

The source, who asked anonymity, added, “The wounded were transferred to a nearby hospital to receive treatment and the dead bodies to the forensic medicine department,” pointing out that, “The security forces cordoned off the incident area and barred approaching it.”

Earlier today, a police source revealed, that two booby-trapped vehicles exploded in al-Samawah City in al-Muthanna Province.
