$13 million stolen from banking company in central Baghdad

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) A security source in the Iraqi police announced on Saturday, that unidentified gunmen stole more than 13 million and 500 thousand dollars from a banking company in central Baghdad.

The source informed IraqiNews.com, “This morning, unidentified gunmen broke into the headquarter of Al-Hoor company for currency exchange in Rasheed Street in central Baghdad, stealing more than 13 million and 500 thousand dollars from it.”

The source, who requested anonymity, added, “The gunmen also stole a cash payment of 100 million Iraqi dinars from the same company,” stressing that, “A security force immediately cordoned off the area after receiving information about the incident and opened an investigation to identify the criminals behind it.”
