15 people arrested in armed tribes clashes in Baghdad

(IraqiNews.com) On Wednesday, Interior Ministry announced that 15 people were arrested for initiating and engaging in clashes between two armed tribes in Baghdad yesterday. Light and medium weapons were obtained during the arrest.

Interior Ministry spokesman, Brigadier Gen. Saad Maan said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “Security forces arrested 15 people who aroused and were engaged in a tribal affray, which broke out yesterday in Fudaliya area east of Baghdad.”

Maan added, “Security forces obtained the light and medium weapons used during the fight,” stressing that, “No one was killed in the clashes.”

Noteworthy, clashes broke out on Tuesday night (January 27, 2015) among armed members of two tribes in Fudaliya area east of Baghdad, using light and medium weapons, while security forces cordoned off the area and took strict security measures.
