 23 people killed, wounded in explosion in Shaab area northeast of Baghdad

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – On Monday, a source in the Ministry of Interior announced, that 23 people had been either killed or wounded in a bomb blast near a market northeast of Baghdad.

The source said in a statement followed by IraqiNews.com, “A car bomb that was parked near al-Shalalat market in al-Shaab District northeast of Baghdad exploded, at noon today, killing six people and wounding 13 others.”

The source, who asked to be anonymous, added, “Ambulances rushed to the area and transferred the wounded to a nearby hospital to receive treatment and the dead bodies to the forensic medicine department, while the security force cordoned off the area of the incident and barred approaching it.”
