300 Kazakhs fight with ISIS says Kazakhstan’s National Security

(IraqiNews.com) On Tuesday, the National Security Agency in Kazakhstan (KNB) announced that there are more than 300 fighters who are fighting alongside ISIS in Iraq and Syria.

The agency said in a statement obtained by IraqiNews, “Over 300 Kazakh citizens are fighting with the ISIS group in Iraq and Syria,” adding that at least half of the Kazakh fighters are women.

Noteworthy, the security agencies in Kazakhstan and a number of former republics of the Soviet Union have expressed concern about the increasing entry of its citizens who joined militant groups in the Middle East.
