4 killed, 18 wounded in two suicide bombings and mortar attack in Samarra

Salahuddin (IraqiNews.com) According to a security source in Salahuddin province, on Tuesday, 4 people were killed and 18 others were wounded in two suicide bombings and a mortar attack in Samarra, while security forces imposed a curfew in the district until further notice.

The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “A number of mortar shells fell yesterday on Samarra, followed by two suicide bombings targeted the headquarters of the associate members in Albu Nissan area in the center of the district (40 km south of Tikrit), which resulted in killing 4 people and  injuring 18 others.”

The source, who requested anonymity, added, “The security forces managed to kill a third suicide bomber wearing an explosive belt tried to target the same region,” adding that, “The dead bodies were transferred to the Forensic Medicine Department and the wounded to a nearby hospital for treatment.”

The source confirmed that, “Security forces imposed a curfew in the district until further notice.”
