40 terrorists killed, kidnapped liberated in Baghdad

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad Operations Command (BOC) announced on Saturday the killing of 40 terrorists and the dismantling of 36 improvised explosive devices in different areas of the capital, pointing out to the liberation of a kidnapped and the arrest of her kidnappers in the area of al-Sha’b northeast of Baghdad.

Baghdad Operations Command said in a statement followed by IraqiNews.com, “Security forces, under the supervision of the commander of Baghdad Operations, carried out a wide purging operation in the areas of  al-Hora, al-Bohairat, and Tel Tasa north of Taji toward the borders with Samarra to purge it from terrorism.”

“The security forces killed 25 terrorists, dismantled 36 improvised explosive devices, and destroyed two vehicles carrying weapon, machine guns, and 60 mm mortars, in addition to a house that terrorists were using as a hideout,” Baghdad Operations added.

Baghdad Operations also stated, “A force of the 33rd Brigade managed to kill another 15 terrorists and destroy their shelters northwest of Baghdad.”
