(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – A source in the Ministry of Interior announced on Sunday, that five members of the Federal Police were either killed or wounded in a bomb blast targeted their patrol in southern Baghdad.

The source said in statement followed by IraqiNews.com “On Sunday evening, an improvised explosive device exploded targeting a Federal Police patrol while passing in al-Yusufiya area in southern Baghdad, killing one police member and wounding four others.”

The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, added, “A security force rushed to the area and transferred the wounded to a nearby hospital for treatment and the dead body to the forensic medicine department, while carried out a raid to search for the perpetrators of the bombing.”
