Hawija (IraqiNews.com) An official in Diyala Province revealed that more than 50 members of the Islamic State group have sneaked from Hawija to al-Mutaibaija, Alsumaria News reported on Tuesday.

Mayor of al-Khalis District, Udai al-Khedran, said in a press statement that more than 50 fighters of the Islamic State group sneaked from Hawija to al-Mutaibaija, located on the borders between Diyala and Salahuddin, in the last few weeks.

Khedran also warned that al-Mutaibaija may represent a weakness to the stability of Salahuddin, Diyala and Kirkuk, due to its strategic location.
