 60 families escape from ISIS areas south of Mosul

(IraqiNews.com) Nineveh – A source in Nineveh Operations Command announced on Tuesday, that 60 families were able to escape from the areas controlled by ISIS south of Mosul, while emphasized that the security forces have secured the arrival of those families to Makhmur District.

The source said in a statement followed by IraqiNews.com, “60 families were able to escape from the areas controlled by ISIS south of Mosul to the areas controlled by the army’s 72nd infantry brigade,” adding that, “The Iraqi army forces secured the arrival of the families to Makhmur District.”

Noteworthy, ISIS took over the city of Mosul in Nineveh Province in June 2014, while the Iraqi forces continue the security operations in order to liberate the province backed by the international coalition aviation.
