7 deaths, 28 injuries among volunteer forces in fierce clashes southern Tikrit

Salahuddin (IraqiNews.com) On Monday, a security source in Salahuddin province said, that 7 elements of the Iraqi Volunteer Forces have been killed and 28 others were injured in an ISIS attack on Samarra district.

The source informed IraqiNews, “This morning, the ISIS group militants have carried out a violent attack on Sour-Shannas area of Samarra district, located 40 km southern Tikrit,” pointing out that, “The attack has begun with a car explosion by an ISIS suicide bomber targeting a security post for al-Hashed al-Sha’bi forces (Iraqi Volunteer Forces).”

“The clashes resulted in killing 7 volunteer soldiers along with 28 elements of al-Hashed al-Sha’bi,” the source added.
