7 killed, wounded in explosion near popular stadium south of Baghdad

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – A source in the Interior Ministry announced on Thursday that seven people had been either killed or wounded in the explosion of an explosive device near a popular football stadium south of Baghdad.
The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “The explosive device exploded, this evening, near a popular soccer stadium in Zaafaraniya district, killing one person and wounding six others.”
The source, who asked anonymity, added: “the security forces rushed to the scene and transported the wounded to a nearby hospital for treatment and the body of the dead man to the forensic medicine department.”
