 75% of Ramadi areas cleansed, says Anbar Council

(IraqiNews.com) Anbar – On Monday, Anbar Provincial Council announced, that 75% of Ramadi areas have been cleansed from ISIS elements, while confirmed that the security forces are working to dismantle the IEDs in the governmental building area.

Anbar Provincial Council member Farhan Mohammed said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com, “The security forces were able to cleanse 75% of Ramadi areas after liberating the governmental building in the center of the city, while inflicted heavy losses on the terrorist organization.”

Mohammed added, “ISIS elements fled to the eastern regions of Ramadi including Khalidiya Island, while abducted the innocent civilians to use them as human shields during their escape from the center of Ramadi.”
