9 casualties among tribal fighters in clashes near Tikrit

Salahuddin (IraqiNews.com) On Sunday, a security source in Salahuddin said, that 9 tribesmen from the volunteer forces have been killed in clashes with ISIS militants in south of Tikrit.

The source informed IraqiNews that, “Violent clashes occurred today between ISIS militants and Iraqi tribal fighters in al-Eshaqi area, located northwest of Balad district, 80 km south of Tikrit. The clashes caused 2 deaths and 7 wounded fighters among the volunteer tribesmen.”

Noteworthy, Samarra Operations Command in Salahuddin province previously announced, that the security forces managed to kill 15 ISIS militants in an offensive operation near al-Eshaqi/Samarra main road.
