(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – US Senator John McCain got surprised from US President Barack Obama’s remarks in which he said he does not believe that his country is losing the battle against ISIS, while described the air campaign in Iraq as “useless”, stressing that 75% of the aircrafts return to its bases without hitting the targets.

McCain said in an interview with “CNN” and followed by IraqiNews.com, “It is strange that the US president repeatedly repeats these words, while thousands of people are killed and burned bodies spread on the streets as well as executions and beheadings.”

McCain added, “I think that it’s time to send ground troops; they should be numbering about ten thousand.”

McCain said that “75% of the aircrafts come back to its bases without throwing bombs, because there is no one on earth that can give them the ability to set goals,” describing this air process as “useless”.

He stressed that if we did not train and equip Iraqi forces and if we did not have effective military elements on the ground with these combat units, these forces will continue to degradation, especially the Iraqi army, which currently has no presence.
