America to send 800 Hellfire missiles to Iraq by November

 

(IraqiNews.com) On Saturday the US Department of Defense (Pentagon) announced that it will transfer the first batch of Hellfire laser-guided missiles to Iraq by November.

Pentagon spokeswoman Elissa Smith said in a statement followed by IraqiNews.com “The first batch includes 800 rockets after Congress approved to sell Iraq about 5 thousand missiles of this type in late August.”

The spokeswoman added “the deal of selling Iraq Hellfire missiles comes to ensure the continued support of the operational requirements of the Iraqi forces and develop its military capabilities.”
