(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – The commander of Anbar Operations Maj. Gen. Ismail Mahlawi announced on Monday the advancement of his troops towards the areas of Albu Diab and al-Jeraishi north of Ramadi, pointing to the dismantling of more than 150 explosive devices.

Mahlawi said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “The security forces have made a progress, today, and crossed Albu Faraj Bridge towards the areas of Albu Diab and al-Jeraishi north of Ramadi,” noting that “the troops are advancing slowly because of the intensity of explosive devices.”

Mahlawi added that “the operation has been launched with the participation of heavy artillery bombardment by rocket launchers,” pointing out that “The engineering force of the army managed to dismantle more than 150 explosive devices in the northern axis of Ramadi.”
