Army lieutenant, two civilians injured in two explosions north of Baghdad

(IraqiNews.com) On Tuesday evening, an army lieutenant and two civilians were wounded in two separate explosions in Suliakh area northern of Baghdad, according to a police source

The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “An explosive device implanted on the side of the road down a bridge in Sulaikh area (north of Baghdad) exploded on Wednesday evening. It resulted in injuring two civilians, who were passing through at the time of the explosion, and damaging the vehicle they were driving.”

The source added, “IED was installed down a governmental Blazer vehicle driven by an army lieutenant; it exploded on Wednesday evening, as it passed in Suliakh area as well, which resulted in his injury.”

The source pointed out that the security forces cordoned off the location of the two incidents and opened an investigation, while ambulances took the injured to a nearby hospital for treatment.
