Salahuddin (IraqiNews.com) A security source in Salahuddin Province revealed that 14 members of the Federal Police were either killed or wounded, while five others were abducted in an attack launched by the Islamic State group on their headquarters, south of Tikrit, Alsumaria reported on Wednesday.

The source said, “The Islamic State group launched an attack, at dawn today, on the Federal Police headquarters in Albu Eissa area, northeast of al-Daluiyah (100 km south of Tikrit), killing six elements of the Federal Police and wounding eight others.”

“The Islamic State’s members also abducted five other members of the Federal Police, before fleeing to an unknown destination,” the source added.

Yesterday and earlier today, the Islamic State group launched several attacks against security members in the province of Salahuddin, leaving 22 casualties.
