Baghdad sets wide security plan for Muharrem
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Operations Command of Baghdad announced the implementation of wide security plan to secure rituals of Muharrem in Baghdad.
The official spokesperson of Baghdad Operations Command, Dhiya al-Wakeel, reported in press statement received by IraqiNews.com ”The security plan and the special procedures of Muharrem started to be implemented by the Iraqi armed forces, Baghdad Operations Command, the security bodies in the Ministries of Interior and Defense and the supportive security forces.”
The statement added ”The security plan included providing the protection for the Shiite pilgrims, who will heads toward Karbala province to commemorate the rituals of Hussein martyrdom anniversary, and securing the Husseini processions as well as the mosques within Baghdad borders.”
The statement pointed out ”The security forces will coordinate with the general secretariat and the ministries of Health, Transports, Oil, Baghdad Municipalities, Trade and Electricity in addition to the Iraq Red Crescent Society to provide appropriate service for all pilgrims.” \
