(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – A source in the Ministry of Interior said on Tuesday, that eight people had been either killed or injured in a bomb blast south of Baghdad.

The source said in a statement obtained by IraqiNews.com, “An explosive device went off near a popular market in the village of Sayed Abdullah in the district of al-Mahmoudiya, south of Baghdad, resulting in the death of one person and wounding seven others.”

The source, who requested anonymity, added, “A security force rushed to the area of the incident and transferred the injured to a nearby hospital for medical treatment and the dead body to the forensic medicine authority.”
